This is probably my favourite of DVDs that I own, I bought it blind because I loved it so much. Good job the film lived up to it really.

Criterions are nearly always nice, but that Green For Danger one M. Hulot posted up there is stunning.

I've always liked this Get Carter one...

And whilst searching for that, found this rather wacky pop art style one that I'd not seen before...

Probably the first of those mosaics that most of us saw.

Nice and stark.

Never seen the film, but I love sketches. :)

Some more recent ones...

A new instant favourite!

I'm a sucker for the traditional painted montage style.

Me too. :)

Man, that Hellboy poster's better than the movie.

I forgot about this one, it's an absolute beauty. Shame I've not got around to buying it yet though.

After the anodyne to poor Criterion covers of recent months, the Eclipse series is a splendid return to form for the company (or at least I think so).

I would absolutely love to see your DVD collection M. Hulot. Can i ask how old you are? And where you are from originally?

I dont think i've ever met anyone as well versed on contemporary cinema. From Hideo Gosha to Bergman in 2 posts. I'd have trouble believing you are english.

That's genius - outtakes to make everyone feel happy after the rape & slaughter they might have just watched. All horror movies should do this!

Imagine Cannibal Holocaust having a comedy outtake section at the end! Laugh as one of the natives chokes on the fake guts! See a funny scene involving a rubber knife bouncing off someone's head!

im not saying its the greatest poster of all time (and i havent seen the movie)

but i hate it when a nice distinctive poster like this :-

becomes a DVD cover like this :-

I (probably) deserve to be upbraided for exclusively praising Criterion's graphic design, but blimey, all of the work for the newest batch of titles is certainly grand:

(Although one must point out that Sweet Movie was actually produced in 1974, not 1955...)
