PS4 Controller Issues FAQ
Touchpad, Options and Share buttons, headphone jack, speaker, better triggers/sticks.
Suspend/Resume - Stop your game and put the PS4 into a low power state, pick up immediately where you left off when you come back.
Share - Post screenshots and video from your play sessions. It looked like you could wind back through your last ten minutes of gameplay, edit/trim it down and upload it. They did this onstage with Killzone: Shadow Fall.
Video Streaming - Stream your game out live to other users on the PS4 or ustream. People watching can give you tips like "Dude Look Out!" and even take control of your game temporarily to get you past a tough section.
Gakai Being Fast - The plan is to be able to select a demo and instantly begin streaming it. You'll also be able to start playing games while they download.
Killzone: Shadow Fall:
inFAMOUS: Second Son:
Deep Down (working title, set in the Dragon's Dogma universe):
Quantic Dream's Old Man Face
Havok Physics Thing
Also PlaystationEU's twitter are pretty sure backwards compatibility is coming via their cloud service and not at all qualifying it in "eventually"s like Dave Perry did onstage.
Controller stuff from Morrius / Moz:
Has this stuff been posted yet? I can't see it. If it has, instead of negging me, just tell me and I'll remove the post.
Some dashboard stuff from Moz:
One thing I noticed, it appears to show a user streaming picture-in-picture, showing their gameplay AND their face via the new camera at the same time. Don't think they've mentioned that yet :)
Is it wrong that I'm most excited about hearing the startup sound for the first time?!
It looks quite a lot like big picture mode too.
Original post, rumoured specs etc:
Sony have announced an event on the 20th February 2013, with this headline:
See the Future, Be the first to know.
VGleaks have put up final specs for the next Sony home console, currently codenamed Orbis, the details are similar to earlier reports from other sources:
* Custom implementation of AMD Fusion APU Arquitecture (Accelerated Processing Unit)
* Provides good performance with low power consumtion
* Integrated CPU and GPU
* Considerably bigger and more powerful than AMDs other APUs
* Orbis contains eight Jaguar cores at 1.6 Ghz, arranged as two clusters
* Each cluster contains 4 cores and a shared 2MB L2 cache
* 256-bit SIMD operations, 128-bit SIMD ALU
* SSE up to SSE4, as well as Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX)
* One hardware thread per core
* Decodes, executes and retires at up to two intructions/cycle
* Out of order execution
* Per-core dedicated L1-I and L1-D cache (32Kb each)
* Two pipes per core yield 12,8 GFlops performance
* 102.4 GFlops for system
* GPU is based on AMDs R10XX (Southern Islands) architecture
* DirectX 11.1+ feature set
* Liverpool is an enhanced version of the architecture
* 18 Compute Units (CUs)
* Hardware balanced at 14 CUs
* Shared 512 KB of read/write L2 cache
* 800 Mhz
* 1.843 Tflops, 922 GigaOps/s

* 18 texture units
* 8 Render backends
Detailed GPU Specs:
Each CU contains dedicated:
- ALU (32 64-bit operations per cycle)
- Texture Unit
- L1 data cache
- Local data share (LDS)
About 14 + 4 balance:
- 4 additional CUs (410 Gflops) extra ALU as resource for compute
- Minor boost if used for rendering
Dual Shader Engines:
- 1.6 billion triangles/s, 1.6 billion vertices/s
18 Texture units
- 56 billion bilinear texture reads/s
- Can utilize full memory bandwith
8 Render backends:
- 32 color ops/cycle
- 128 depth ops/cycle
- Can utilize full memory bandwith
* 4 GB unified system memory, 176 GB/s

Sony Pre-TGS Presser: P5, YS, DQ...
A lacklustre show still managed to deliver some quality content, the highlights of which were:
God Eater 2
Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War
Kingdom Under Fire 2
Dead or Alive 5
Resident Evil Revelations 2
Dragon Quest: Heroes
You can watch a dubbed version of the conference at the U-Stream link below:
Last year Sony delivered an impressive pre-TGS press conference, announcing new PS4 games such as Guilty Gear Xrd, Lily Bergamo, Natural Doctrine and a new Gundam, as well as a healthy mix of Vita titles, such as Phantasy Star Nova, Yakuza Ishin, Danganronpa: Another Episode and Terraria.
They also found time to reveal the Vita Slim and surprised everyone by announcing a new console in the form of Vita TV (now rebranded as Playstation.TV in the West).
For those who would like to catch up with everything that was announced last year, you can watch the conferences and coverage here:

Gamespot Conference Coverage:
With PS4, (and indeed the entire home console business) struggling in Japan, all eyes will be on Sony's ability to deliver knockout titles for their new console and get sales moving.
A fresh look at the new Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts sounds like a safe bet, Gravity Rush 2 seems like a cert, and there's whispers that we'll be seeing some big announcements from Team Ninja along with what Famitsu is teasing as a "Godzilla sized announcement" during their presser.
Sony themselves are saying that new game reveals were held back from Gamescom to be shown at TGS, and whilst Shu has conceded that there won't be any further news about The Last Guardian, he is promising a PS4 focussed event with lots of new game announcements. It's also likely that we'll see the first fruits of the Japanese indie scene on PS4/Vita, which Sony has been quietly championing.
We'll get a better idea at what Japanese indies are bringing to Playstation during the last night of TGS, when Playism Games will be hosting the Playstation x Playism Indie Stream. During this event (which sounds more like a party for indie developers to meet up and discuss ideas) we are promised a look at what Sony's plans are for Japanese indies, as well as a few big announcements.
Sony's presser will also be coming off the back of their sponsorship of Japan's popular Hatsune Miku Magical Mirai show, which makes use of PS4's new Dynamic Lighting AR Tech. The tech looks very sophisticated, and its hopeful that it will make an appearance in game form during the keynote.
So all in all, it sounds like Sony have a lot to show this year. Alarm clocks at the ready. :)
Neither Nintendo or Microsoft will be hosting a TGS press conference this year.
Do you care about gesture control?
As per title. MS are putting all their eggs in one basket by bundling the Kinect, that no gamer I know wants, with the Xbone and adding a hefty margin on to the price.
My question is, and one MS should have asked as a dashboard poll on 360 or something, Do you care about gesture control?
I don't. I feel like an idiot shouting voice commands, I hate controlling games with gestures. Nothing is as accurate as a pad or keyboard and mouse.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOoJ6ucEY8g Rumour Roundup: There's already been a good few rumours swirling around about what to expect from Sony this E3, with assurances of plenty of big surprises abound. As usual, shake salt liberally, but the below is what's rumoured to be coming: 40+ Exclusives Coming New Sony Santa Monica Game Will Be Shown Playstation World Detailed See The Console Amazing Big Vita Title Final Fantasy Versus & Kingdom Hearts 3 Demon Souls 2 What They Need To Show: There are some very obvious questions which Sony will finally have to answer. It's already been stated that PS4 won't require an online connection, so they should be good from that angle, but the question of DRM will hang over their entire conference unless they get it out of the way early. If it's good news, expect them to make it a cornerstone of their conference announcement, if it's bad, then we'll probably only hear about it in the interviews which follow. PS4 is obviously going to be the major focus, but pleeeeease don't ignore the Vita this year. It was just embarrassing last year.
