Trials Evo - weekly time trial - (season one over)

418 posts in this topic

Don't think there's anything wrong with the course, quite good I think, just a bit tricky where you have to hit a few bits EXACTLY right or you get a fault.

Just spent way too long (2 hours) on it trying to zero fault it - almost did it, then fucked it about 5 secs from the end TWICE. Been screaming at my telly all the way through it... neighbours won't be happy.

Its the line that isn't right, though. Those two little u bends up and over those tall stone structures are hideously inconsistent. I've landed the same way about 6 times, and half of that time the bike's flipped/stopped dead, other 3 I've gone sailing over the top. Also the water hiding the landing platform at the start and such.

Once you're past the first gimmicky half pipe thing, it settles down.

I got this down to one fault on my second go then spent the next hour completely unable to elimate that one fault. I don't mind most of it but there's one loop the loop about halfway through that seems totally random to me and tends to fuck me up on the odd go where I get the beginning right. Will plug away at it a bit more later though.

Oh man, I got stuck on the edge of a platform for about two seconds and ended 0.5 seconds behind Crich Stand. I'm sure he's got another ten seconds in him but it would have been nice to be in front for a little while at least

And still miles behind Dark Soldier

I know I'm not in the group to have a crack at these times, but I have a few of you on my friends list so can compete a little if I feel up to it.

But you'd be made not to have a good, long look at "Japan Tourism" by "x Dosanko x" for the next track. It's a medium, really well flowing track with clear signposting of obstacles, features and really well controlled camera. It also looks all kinds of amaze. :)

Need to remember to have another crack at this before times up.

FINALLY zero faulted it! Only after about 3 hours worth of attempts :/

Can we have a nice easy straight line course next week pls? Was about throwing the controller at my telly.

Right, that's me well and truly done with that course. I know I could shave off more, but I honestly don't think my hands can cope with playing Trials for a few days now. Critch Stand, I've beaten your time 3 times tonight and the last one got me top global time. If you beat it before time is called on this one then quite honestly you're welcome to it.

Had to take a snap for posterity:

And yes I realise I've missed the times off, but that's how fried I feel for getting it. I think it was something like 1.10.3xx

Few hours to go, are we going to have a new winner?!

I have actually got something quite tricky lined up next, maybe I'll save it for the week after and find something nice and easy for this week!

Oh FozZ, gutted

Crich Stand 1:09.913

Monophobe 1:10.527

Dark Junglist 1:13.054

LaughingAssasin 1:14.231

BadForTheGlass 1:15.189

toythatkills 1:18.669

Mentazm 1:19.123

p1nseek3r 1:20.741

MrWizcat 1:23.813

DonRosco 1:23.772 (1)

We'll have something easy this week, then, and something trickier next week. It's AW-Contaminated by x Professi0nal, it's all about speed and getting the perfect line to hit jumps. It's in RedLynx Picks at the moment so find it there.

Bah, I was third last time I looked! I knew it was a pretty conservative run though, it was the first time I'd made it past the weird loop-the-loop jump bit without a fault so I was over cautious after that. Didn't have it in me to chip away at it afterwards.

A little gutted but I expected as much. Was at work so couldn't do anything about it. Anyway, well done Crotch Stain *AHEM* sorry, Crich Stand ;)

Can't be bothered to fire it up and watch the replay, but I'm wondering if you beat me by using my technique - i.e using the Scorpion.

Nah, spent 30 mins on the track last night to no avail. Played it for an hour this afternoon, before the Italy match, and got the winning time. All my other goes were lucky single runs.

I say lucky, because the track was proper Billy bullshit. The spinny thing-a-me doo-dad in the middle was a total lottery. Was at least another 2 seconds to take off over my final time. Basically, had a week off this playing Indie stuff. Discovered AvaGlide, Little Racers Street, and some of the scrolling shooter stuff. Some cracking games on there.

Looking forward to getting back on a decent track this week.

Nah, i beat you by using my superior skillz! :)

Used the Pheonix. All i did to beat you was loop the loop the first swingy thing, instead of just dropping off it. That gained me over a second, and i could also do the start section over a second faster. Could have smashed my time if i'd put the effort in, but didn't like the track at all, as it was just too random in places.

Congratulations, on a well earned 2nd place though!

Eh? I thought this was supposed to be an easy track this week? Weird jumps all over the shop.

I can barely do the first two jumps. If it was easy I should have 0 faulted it on my first attempt.

As it stands I'm sitting here nearly an hour fucking later trying to zero fault it.

FUCK THIS COURSE.

We can't all me Trials Grandmasters like DJ. Took me over an hour just to zero fault it. I'm out.

I thought it was alright to zero fault, myself. Getting a decent time is another matter entirely.

Are you definitely on the right track?

Yeah, got all you's as dots on it racing away ahead of me. I just can't seem to finesse the bike like you guys do - I find it extremely difficult not to either have the stick in the middle or right at the edges.
