I've never played Everybody's Golf before, either. But Mario Golf on the N64 was one of my favourite party games of all time. I'm guessing this is similar?

Very similar, the original EG was developed by the same people as Mario Golf.

Anyway - the PS3 version was similar to Mario Golf but obviously graphically way beyond it. Same game at the heart of it. EG on the PS3 also had possibly the nicest online community I've ever seen. Online matches were just great because of it. I'm hoping this will be just the same.

I can't work out how to do anything. The manual is useless. How do I move the camera to where I'm aiming? I somehow turned on some AR weirdness too!
