Are they all Star Wars prequels pics on the wall? (I'm only ignoring the wheel/chair combo through mild jealousy ;) )

The one in the back is Blade Runner (Iol of course) the other three are Phantom,Clones, and Return of the Jedi. The ROTJ poster is from 1983 back when I worked at a movie theather. I kind of uh....took it home to a better place.

I figured you lot might appreciate this... I raced tonight in the Virtual Motorsports Classic Series - A Class for a similar vintage, so broke out the '66 Nova tuned to A547.

Ended up on pole position in the 4th of 6 lobbies with another Nova in 2nd. Spent 27 laps of 38 battling with him always within 100ft of each other, but after a pitstop I was in front...

Until the sodding TV changed channel for a programme someone scheduled.

Ended up in the wall with a damaged engine in last place. Sums up the week, really.

Good read mate, it sounds like you had fun. Until the tv incident spoiled it at least.

What's their entry criteria? I could maybe be up for a bit more organised racing if they still accepting entries and I'm allowed in. How serious do they take the racing over there?

Also, I was having a nosey on their forum bit where you have to introduce yourself and say what speed your Internet connection, NAT, pad or wheel user etc and think I spotted yours on there saying you use the 3rd person chase-cam view? I just assumed everybody in serious stuff would be on cockpit or bonnet cam. You always use chase-cam?

Right, I've been out of the online gaming stuff for almost two months (due to a combination of work overload and a new woman), but I hope to get back on this Monday. Is it a possibility to do a guest entry in this series?

If so, I'll see if I can prepare a car over the week :)

Entry criteria is to sign up on the virtual motorsport forum and then enter yourself http://www.virtual-motorsports.com/forums and then post in the required sign-up thread.
The livery requirements are a bit of a pain, but once you're up and running it's not too much different - turn up at a time, run qualifying, then race. For most of their series you have to make a pitstop, but that's about it.

And I do tend to use chase cam - I play more in-car when I'm playing solo, but I find it hard to know where the other cars are without having a proper head-tracking 3+ monitor set-up, and I feel bad if I totally nerf someone... IIn-car + rear wheel drive only really works with a good feedback wheel to balance slides...

I hope you're getting paid the big bucks Joe.

I don't - he gets to drive cars about for a living doesn't he?
Sort of. Getting little bucks for that, though...

However I did get to participate (as a co-driver) in a rally sprint yesterday. In a Lamborghini Gallardo.

:)

Amazing to experience, obviously. Though racing you guys is equally fun and I look forward to returning to Forza. Soon, hopefully!

Morcs is right.....

Anyhoo I've put together a wee Lancia Stratos for tomorrow's race and I was running roughly 1:47 give or take half a second. Just wondering if that's competitive. I tried out Rich's Escort from the club garage and it was proving a fraction slower. What are you guys doing ? If I'm within 3 or 4 seconds I'll stick with the Lancia otherwise I'll need to try something else.

I got a high 1:44 testing tonight. Think Badger G is doing 1:43s in his Golf according to the leaderboard.
Sounds about right - I've only run a handful of laps with Pjeedai and Bladerunner, but I'm hoping for fairly consistent 43's... The main problem with the Golf is if we don't get a clear run through the corners, we can't get past on straights due to the speed difference.
