Does anyone watch Hollywood Treasure? It's a fly-on-the-wall documentary about an auctioneer who specialises in Hollywood film and TV memorabilia. It's pretty bad but I've watched a lot of episodes. They have had some cool stuff for sale and the episode when they visit Stan Winstons studio is really good.

I notice Keroro Gunso is on US Netflix now as Sergeant Frog. Well worth the watch - completely off the wall, bonkers good natured family Japanese entertainment.

From the episodes I've watched so far, the English dub (haven't checked if subs are available) has been altered a fair bit to be more US accessible sadly.

Bummed, it's dubbed only sadly. Getting a bit annoyed at how much they've altered the lines now. It's been years since I started watching some of the Fansubs and I only got through the first 9 episodes, but it's not the same sadly.

Shame really as I do prefer a dub to reading subs.

Just noticed new South Park episodes are up on the American service.

They won't be "new" to many of you, but as I don't have Sky and don't download TV, they're new to me.

Best In Show is on the US service. One of my most watched films, and the best of post-Spinal Tap Christopher Guest films. Ensemble comedy genius.

Tried watching Videodrome. The picture quality is excellent, but the sound mix is utterly terrible. Apparently the film was mixed in mono, but the version on Netflix is a stereo mix with all of the dialogue in the left channel. I gave up after 10 minutes, it was ruining the experience.

I noticed last night that Thor is up on the US site. Not seen it yet, but heard good things about it as a dumb, enjoyable Branagh take on a comic book hero.

Is there no way to just set your tv/speakers to 'do' mono?

How can I find out what new stuff is added to UK Netflix? The 'new' section never seems to get updated. Are they just not adding new stuff?

Also, My Scary Girl has just been added to US Netflix. I've heard this is good. Is it?

Ta.

You're not thinking of My Sassy Girl are you, which is genuinely amazing?

Also, just noticed that Jim Henson's Storyteller is up there now, most of which is excellent.

They've just added a 'Recently Added' list alongside the 'New Releases' one that has always been there. Both have always been available on US.

I think the former is the newest additions, and the latter stuff with the most recent release/air date.

Yes, but neither of these seem to change. Just me?

I have a Netflix UK account and ony watch stuff on my iPad or PS3. Is there a simple way I can access US content without setting up another account?

Setup an account on Unblock US and put the DNS details into either your iPad or ps3. You can use your existing Netflix account.

Aye, just follow the instructions on the unblock-us site. Ignore the bits about re-downloading the Netflix app and so on. Just follow the bits about changing the DNS settings in your PS3. You don't need another account.

You might be right, but the recently added is new and seems to show 'new' stuff.
[/quote]

Maybe they just don't add much stuff to the UK version then. The US one gets tons of new stuff daily.

They add new stuff almost daily but don't update the 'New' bits on the site and only mention highlights on their Twitter feed.

That seems like a sensible idea. I mean, why would subscribers want to know what is available?

Thanks guys, I'll give it a go.

Edit: Well that worked a treat, thanks again. I take it after the first month I'll have to pay a monthly sub to unblock-us though?
