I'm thinking of putting together some more themed race nights. I've done the redneck rampage and it was fairly successful but the game offers so many other options. So far I've got :

1. Historic Rallying on Fujimi Kaido - Done like a rally with 15 second gaps between cars on the 8 different sectors available, using the various rally cars available. Tuned and upgraded to A or B class.

2. Modern day Rallying on Fujimi Kaido - As above using the latest hot hatches again tuned & painted.

3. German Touring Car Event - Audi & Merc TC's on European tracks 15 lap minimum races.

4. Super city cars - F class mini cars upgraded to A or S class.

5. Nurburgring Sports Endurance event - S class supercars on a 10 lapper of the green hell.

6. SUV Hill Climb Madness - Off roaders upgraded and rallyed up Fujimi again time trial style.

7. Top Gear Night - Cars associated with the show strictly only usin the TG tracks culminating in a game of football.

8. Italian Legends - Various classes of Italian supercars old and new on Mugello.

9. Le Mans - R3 - R1 races on Le Mans Old and New

10. Nascar Night - Oval tracks 25 - 50 lap races in Chevy/Ford Stock Cars

11. Aussie V8 night - 10 lap races on various long circuits in V8s only.

12. Japanese Race night - Strictly Japanese cars on japanese track variations.

Lets hear your ideas.

I don't race online much with you guys. I get so stressed about people getting all arsey when you accidentally take them out! I love racing, but some of the long term elite make it a very unfriendly place to be. But I love the idea of all of them. Especilly the Kaido rallies, The SUV ones especially. Maybe something a bit more light hearted and fun would get more regulars. With separate Pro or Elite races for the heads?

Trust me when I say at least when I'm hosting I do try to make sure that no one takes it too seriously. You should join in. that goes for anyone else who feels put off by the "elite." If anything it's them causing the accidents these days with their new fangled steering wheels and pedal setups.

For the record we haven't had any arsey moments for quite a while unless me telling people to shut up about their fannytecs counts. I think it does.

Dr Seedyman, generally everyone that plays regularly on here is fairly considerate when racing and usually more than accepting of an apology when their race is damaged by someone making a mistake. Join in, you'll enjoy it, I had similar reservations until I took the plunge and now try and race every time I have the opportunity.

As for the events, particularly loving the inclusion of Fujimi Kaido Boozy ;). But then you'd probably guessed that. How about a Old Japanese Hill climb (Initial D style?) on the Fuji?

I love the idea of Historic rallying/hillclimb.
There's loads of suitable cars in the game...

Mid-engined monsters:
Renault 5 Turbo Group B 284 MR 1980
Lancia Stratos Group B 346 MR 1974
Lancia 037 Group B 362 MR 1982
(you'd have to open up to S for the RS200)

Four-Wheel-Drive Grippers
Ford Escort Cosworth Saloon 371 4WD 1992
Lancia Integrale Saloon 396 4WD 1992
Audi Quattro Group B 462 4WD 1983

Rear-Wheel-Drive sideways action.
Ford Escort Rs1800 Saloon 201 FR 1977
Ford RS500 Saloon 388 FR 1987
Abarth 131 Saloon 204 FR 1980
BMW E30 M3 Saloon 357 FR 1991
Toyota AE86 Saloon 277 FR 1985

if you were going top limit it to a single car it would have to be the Mk2 Escort.

We're completely relaxed when it comes to shunts and paint swapping. T-boning can fuck right off though, as they are not accidents, but deliberate takeouts. All of us know our racing etiquette though, so you'll rarely see massive pile-ups and in return little name-calling. Except between Dimahoo and I, but that's for comedy value.

Dr Seedyman, everyone I've raced with in the RMUK club has been very easy going and very tolerant of more average racers like myself. I never feel intimidated by anyone and always enjoy it, even though I'm usually off the pace by a bit. Just wish I could join in more often. Its all very friendly.

Some great suggestions there Boozy, I like the sound of the Fujimi Kaido ones, also the high class super-minis. Not to keen on the V8 stuff as I literally find them difficult to get to grips with. Would like to try some Evo vs Impreza or Nissan vs Toyota (for example)series type stuff too, maybe? The possibilities are almost endless.

A night with the old convertibles, culminating at Le Mans would be nice.

Rallycross:

Ford RS200
Audi Quattro
Ford RS500

All at something like S spec in Rallycross painschemes and competing on the shorter tracks for a true Rallycross experience.

So are we going to fill the gap until the next series with one off specials?

Maybe on a different night as Meatball has struggled with shifts clashing.

If some of these nights went ahead I'd be interested in racing. For me, I like replicating real life racing series, so DTM, Aussie V8's, Le Man's really appeal. I'm not sure how viable a BTCC event would be? I'd have to boot up the game and have a look what cars are in it!

Would love to get back on this, it really is a fantastic game and I haven't finished the single player.

I think Boozy said he won't be doing a theme night tonight as he has revision. I will probably be on later tonight assuming I don't get distracted by Trials EVO

I'll hope to be on later in the evening, but really need to be testing my GP2 Leon SuperCup as that series kicks off tomorrow...

As the Peugeot 205 T16 is in the August Car Pack, I renew my call for classic mid 80's Rallycross action.
