A "survival driving" game for the PC, Nitronic Rush has been developed by the aptly named Team Nitronic, a group of students at the DigiPen Institute of Technology

So it's a bit Trackmania, a bit SF Rush 2049 set on Wipeout-meets-Tron tracks that are trying to kill you :)

Nitronic Rush is an experimental survival driving game developed by students at DigiPen Institute of Technology. Using the car’s many abilities (including boost, wings, and jump), avoid obstacles that the city throws at you. In many ways the game is a tribute to racing games of the 1990′s, but with fresh graphics, audio, and gameplay.

I've started playing this and I'm shocked...this could have easily sold as a commercial product. It's got the feel of Tron/Automan. Being able to fly for short bursts is a blessing and a curse...if you're quick enough you can recover from being thrown off the track. The thing even has achievements!

If you're a fan of the old Tron/cyberpunk look or you really liked Moterhead on the PSOne you need to play this.

Yeah i totally agree.

Real Motorhead vibe. And trains as well.

Would like to see some racing tracks based around this.

Worth a bumping.

Making a cock-up, falling off the track, then realising I could get my wings out and fly back up to land safely back on the track and go on to finish the course felt good :D

What's the game it reminds me of? Where you were a thingy and you bounced forward over gaps, it was sort of light pastel shades and futuristic. ropey looking plain 3d, quite old. You could change how fast you were going and I think some coloured surfaces made you bounce, slowed you down and stuff like that. Pretty sure I got it from an abandonware site when I first started pc gaming. Can't remember the name or anything but really want to play it.

Or theres that indie game where your an Aztec ball and must escape a collaping level.

Its very nice looking with some ace effects but i don't think its the one you mean.

Couldn't find a thread for their pro-version / kickstarter / sequel - DISTANCE, so I thought might as well include this update video here:

Looking forward to seeing the first implementation of the replay mode tools (am guessing that'll be during Beta). Anyone here been enjoying the alpha version, if they got access to it as Kickstarter backer?
