I know Instagram ruins pictures and the people that use it have no talent. Some simpletons however do enjoy using it, so post your monstrosities here like I have below.

It's more like Twitter with pictures, if that makes sense. You post a picture, add hashtags, people follow you and you can follow back, or can search and 'like' them. It has it's own set of filters you can use- you can either snap a shot and use a filter, or upload a photo and add a filter, or ignore the filter altogether if you want.

It's not that great as a photo filter app (although a few of them are quite nice) but as a photo sharing community it's pretty good.

I've always thought it would be a good idea to have a place where people could post photos, almost at random, that they've taken.

Two of mine. It's taken over hipstamatic for me. Need to use it more though I think.

Some pics I took on holiday this year. I quite enjoyed fiddling with effects and stuff while in transit!

What are the best camera apps for the iPhone then? Just for tinkering around and adding effects?

I like Hipstamatic for when I don't want to think, and Snapseed for when I do.

I use Camera+ and Snapseed mostly... the free version of BeFunky is alright, despite the terrible name.

Also I really miss the old subtle blur effect. :(

Yeah, I deleted the new version and re-installed the old one of my iTunes- the new tiltshift was terrible, way too harsh. Honestly don't know why they decided to change it because it worked really well before.

There's quite an enjoyable tag on Instagram called #hipstaroll - every week they pair a Hipstamtic lens with a film and you have to go shoot photos with that combination, no other editing. Quite good because I'd mostly given up using Hipstamatic but being forced to stick to one combination, and being able to see other peoples' attempts as well, is kind of nice. This week it's the LuciferVI lens and the BlankoNoir film -

Instagrams great- it's all about the camera you have on you. Not a fan of its fake borders though.

Anyone seen these? You can now make these images with lenses rather than after effects. Looks like a lot of fun and I'm probably going to get one.

Here are my current five Instagram photos - I tend to hesitate when using Instagram as I only really like shooting pictures I know are going to look halfway decent. Most of the time I'll just reach for Hipstamatic or Camera+ if I want to record something hence why I don't have very many:

What do people think? I'm considering deleting the red crosses picture - I'm not sure it's interesting enough.

I use the default iPhone camera, and then import into Instagram if I like a specific picture. That means you get a nice high quality version (if you have a 4 or 4S, anyway) and you can mess about in Instagram all you like without worrying about ruining the original.

Finally joined the iPhone party with a 4S, and I'm in love with Instagram. The square format rocks, and being able to shoot, make a quick decision on filters, then upload without any handwringing or angst means I'm enjoying just pure compositional photography.

It's also a fun game to try and take "Instagram" style photos. I was always a better mimic than I was a creator.

@Alexlotl on there. Here's a few:

Fun spot in the park next to my offices. People keep graffitiing a beautiful blue wall, and each time they re-paint it, the colour is slightly different, leading to fun, often nested abstract block art.

Just got this as it's out for Android (shame the tilt shift function isn't included yet - a bit weird since they said it was going to be more advanced than the iPhone version...)

I'm on there as j_davies if anyone would like to add me :)
