No.

So basically I can pick any car from that list for this series?

Yep. Unless the Ferrari gains more than 10 PI when you install a rollcage.

Lovely work there.

Race format- haven't worked it out yet. Probably a one- shot qually run, then 2 races of 20 minutes or so. Keep each meeting under an hour.

That car list does highlight just how many muscle cars t10 have put in this game compared to euro and japanese classics…

Man, there's a lot to like in that list, I need to pick a few and do some test drives. The Elan Sprint might just do me :)

I've tried out a lot of the muscle now.

The Chevy Impala is really easy to drive with the suspension etc. sorted if anyone's after more benign muscle! I'm pretty much sold on the 1970 Camaro though, purely because of the wonderful noise. I've uploaded a vid but can't find where it goes on Forzamotorport.net.

I see RFT has added a load of options to the car club, will have to do some tryouts.

Indeed - I've added the Lotus Elan, Nissan 240z and Plymouth HemiCuda to the Club.

I'm slightly concerned about the Elan as it's got more power then the next-lightest car (the alfa) but we'll see how things go on wednesday. It's always been a car that's challenged the PI system on account of it's titchiness.

there do seem to be 3 main "classes" of car emerging.

Lightweight: Alfa, Elan, Datsun 510
Middleweight: Jag, 240z, 65 Stang (interstingly this mustang is lighter and less powerful at C425 than the Jag)
Heavyweight: the 'Cuda and suchlike (later muscle cars with 7-ish litre V8s which can just about squeak in to the series with minimal mods (no lightening).

I've uploaded a vid but can't find where it goes on Forzamotorport.net.

Should be in the same page in your gallery as your photos, on the right hand side under "large media files". Took me a while to find it hiding there too.

Just test drove the Elan. Drives beautifully and I'm getting roughly the same times as the Camaro. Looks like this could work out nicely!

So are you ready for paint? I know what paint job I'm doing on your car now, but I'm not going to say what it is till its done…

What I'll do is (as its not an expensive car) buy a Camaro of my own. Do the paint job on that, tonight, then gift the design over.

I'm looking to join in although my availability is limited.

Does mandatory roll-cage mean basic level or the full sports one?

Full race cage- the others in that menu are just strut-braces.

(it's all about the visuals, to be honest)

Lolz

That's actually a better rendition than mine as he's done the period sponsor decals from scratch, and done the "chapparal" font properly instead of using the stock font.

Mine only too half an hour.

Some action shots coming up later…

I can't do Wednesday, off mountain biking for a couple of days. Should be around Monday and Tuesday night though if any historic racers are about.

Just worked in the race rollcage by downgrading to stock carbs, filter and gearbox. Thankfully still sounds evil! Was 0.5 seconds behind the previous time but might just be Sunday driving.
