Regarding Stratego 3...you might have been joking but my version of Stratego 4 has the 3 player version on the back of the same board :)

Yeah noticed that shortly after posting about it.. still havent managed to give it a whirl 4 player yet either :(

4 player is quite good, 3 player always ends up with one person getting picked on. That's what I found anyways :)

Have you considered maybe people just don't like you?

;)

It's generally unavoidable in 3 player games sadly, though not as bad in Stratego as in some others :)

I nearly got the regular version of stratego for £1.50 yesterday, but stopped myself. It would just take up shelf space.

...unless someone tells me it's awesome here

When I was 10 Stratego was awesome and possibly the greatest, most tactical game ever invented. Now I think it's ok.

I've got that Marvel set, I got it as a gift. I think I've only played it about twice, it didn't do that much for me to be honest. I should probably give it another spin (he says, knowing full well he won't get around to it).

Not my photos, but I managed to snag this (the main box):

Plus this expansion pack:

And this expansion pack:

For a total of £26 delivered off of eBay (all unboxed, no rules) the week before last. From what I can tell, I'm missing like 3 dudes, one or two bricks and a couple of discs. There's plenty there for AMAZING WARFARE SCENES in my front room, though.

Given the prices this stuff seems to go for, I'm counting is at a bargain. I have, of course, replaced all the elastic bands with stronger and more violent upgrades.

Very jealous Pele. My kitchen is the perfect venue for father v son warfare, though I suspect the dog and youngest would destroy any walls as soon as they were built!

New job and a self imposed expulsion from the community based on various factors. I missed you guys, though, so have cured my addiction to the rest of the place and am back!

It's awesome! I gave up trying to get an original pack at a decent price but when this newer Battlegrounds stuff showed up I took a punt and it stuck. Nostalgia hasn't lost out this time ;)

It reminds me of Manta Force. That had excellent projectile firing action.

When Woolies went under a few years back I managed to snag a load of this stuff for my two nephews. For that Christmas at least I was officially the best uncle ever!

I'm not sure I dare post about today's car boot finds:

Discworld Ankh Morpork - Complete £3!!! (box has a knackered corner but at that price who cares!)

AD&D starter set: Red boxed edition - Complete £1

I'm really not sure what's going on at the mo, but long may it continue. Who the hell sells a copy of Discworld off at a carboot? Madness!

Car Boot chocka today as expected.

Found these two White Wolf 'World of Darkness' books - Werewolf the Forsaken & Vampire the Requiem. - Both hardback and the most recent versions in mint nick.

Seller said £3 each, I countered and got them two for a fiver. Never read any of the WW stuff before - a brief flick showed them to be interesting - I'll have a proper read over the next week.

I did alright at the boot sale yesterday. This:

http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/93895/dwarf-kings-hold-dead-rising

And this:

http://www.manticgam...en-Warhost.html

Both bought to sell, but I think I'll be keeping the game as it sounds fairly neat (and I had to unseal the floor tiles to check all the bits were there). £3 each, and in seemingly standard boardgame thread bargaining I got the two for £5.

After swearing I wouldn't buy any more shitty charity shop finds I got Escape From Colditz and Kingmaker for £4.98 from the British Heart Foundation today. Suppose I'd best pop 'em open.

Just had a look at Kingmaker's instructions. That fucker is NEVER getting played.

Both are excellent trade bait over on BGG though. Bang them both up in the next UK Math Trade and see what you can get!

Nah it's peasy (recalls how long it took him and his mate to work out the rules back in the 70s...), well, maybe not - I think you can start with simpler combat rules. Is it the Avalon Hill bookshelf version, or one of the wide, flat box versions (Gibson was the last one, I think)?

I used to love the game, although we never got more than a 2-player game going, which meant missing out on a whole layer of diplomacy, (read: treachery and backstabbing).
