I've never seen that much D&D stuff in one place before :o

Was dropping off some donations in the local charity shop so though i'd check out what board games they had. Only thing of interest was a tatty copy of Atmosphere.....on VHS

Well in stark contrast to Gmass' motherload the other day.. all I found from todays car boot is this: (you cant even class it as a boardgame) :)

100_5059.jpg

Still it cost a grand total of 50p, and has kept my daughter entertained all afternoon!

Heroscape Rise Of The Valkyrie master set for £3 at BHF in Stoke. It's missing the dragon, lizard rider and an order counter. The latter I can fashion something for myself, the others I will now inevitably spend more on buying from eBay than I did the set. We'll see.

I also spent £3 today on a copy of Escape from Colditz. It's like the damn thing was played once and left in a loft. Tomorrow will be spent avoiding Nazis!

Some of you are scoring good wins at the minute. I mean nothing matches the D&D madness but Hive and Escape from Colditz are both excellent finds.

That's a good find.. Been in there dozens of times and they usually have bugger all!

It was the only thing in 5 or 6 stores I went in, mind, and the dude at Shire Games (lovely shop, will post thoughts tomorrow) seemed very envious too!

I gave my best mate my perfect copy of heroscape to play with his son. They used the rubbish basic rules and decided they didn't like it. Philistines!

Hardly a bargain, but knowing it's a cult classic and hoping it was worth something I greedily picked up Loopin' Louie at a charity shop yesterday for four quid. Aside from the instructions and a box that's a little worse for wear it's in good nick--and it came with a couple working batteries too.

Still, four quid for a second-hand kids game.

Campfire! You've got the best "kids" game ever made there. Loopin Louie is a stone cold classic and is a guaranteed hit so don't worry your 4 quid has been very wisely invested. Loopin Louie is one game that I will never sell from my collection.:)

and here we go - the D&D gods must want me back in the fold:

82962017.jpg

58 3rd Edition Dungeons and Dragons books in minty condition for a mere £1 each. I was completely staggered by this and so were the Oxfam staff when I said I'd take the lot. I was further staggered when said staff member stated they were actually 2 for £1.

I got a pile of about 20 of them last year. They were much more expensive (£2.50 each) but I've got about 5 left to sell on Amazon and I've already made about £200 out of them. The only one I'm toying with keeping (and have taken off Amazon twice) despite having no interest in them at all was this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Draconomicon-Dungeons-Dragons-Fantasy-Roleplaying/dp/0786928840

Which is just lovely.

EDIT: Which you have in your pile!

It looks...umm...awesome!

It is. Ignore those half-naked chumps as they're plainly playing it wrong and if you posted a video of your friends playing a couple of minutes of pretty much any game it would also look a bit shit.:)

Loopin Louie for life yo!

I'm sorry. This is rllmuk and I assumed you were being sarcastic. Sorry again. It is completely and totally awesome as well.

Don't be daft, nothing to apologise for.

YouTube is full of Germans enjoying it though. It looks like a very funny, very good game. The kind of thing my lad would obliterate as he becomes more and more excited.

You forget that this part of Rllmuk is so below the radar of most posters here that it's not really Rllmuk at all and is like the best haven around that I genuinely get a lot of satisfaction posting at. I love this sub forum. And I both love/hate you guys for introducing me to it.

Pretty much the reason I don't post in this sub-forum: you guys are just too nice, I'd never fit in, what with the lack of a family and my lack of social grace and my dead baby jokes. Well, joke.

That and I don't get the opportunity to play many board games. That's probably more of a reason than the others.

And yet I hate the rest of the forum. Oh, what a conundrum.

You should play boardgames on your xbox. Both Magic 2012, Carcassonne and Catan are 400 points at the mo.

Everyone's a winner.

Ah the old staple. It's actually a very good game, especially with more people but you'll find that you see more copies in charity shops now you've got one. It's like blue cars, you never see them till you own one then they're fucking everywhere.
