I couldn't agree more Manic.

Anyways, I stuck this over in the football thread but I thought I'd stick it here too just in case.

I'm looking for some advice please chaps!

Tickets for the Millwall FA cup semi-final went on general sale today. Obviously as I life-long Millwall fan I'll be going - damn excited I am too.
The only tickets left are in the upper tiers. On the two occasions I've been to new Wembley to watch England, it's always looked more fun to be in the lower tiers (often behind the goal).

The are a couple of ticket agencies offering seats here - at a premium, naturally.

So for those with experience in this sort of thing:

1) What's the atmosphere like in the upper tiers in club games?

2) Is it better to have a great view (halfway line) or be behind the goal? I want the atmosphere more than the view.

3) Are my club losing out on money if I go through an agency instead of Millwall's ticketing site? I suspect they will sell out.

4) Are the ticket agencies actually legit? As in, will I definitely get Millwall End tickets, are they genuine, etc. If you've used one for a football game, who would you recommend?

Er.., I think that's it. Cheers everyone!

Tickets had been on sale for members of the Millwall supporters club, of which I am a member, but I've long misplaced my membship details and they can't 'find me in the system'. It's been disappointing to say the least.

I was in the upper tier at wembley for the FA cup semi (Pompey v WBA) and in the lower tier for the final (Pompey v Cardiff). Both were great to be honest but I think as close as you can get o the middle behind the goal will be best. You can't really go wrong though! Atmosphere is better behind the goal as thts normally were the 'core' sit.

I sat on a lower tier near the halfway line for the first ever football match at the new Wembley. It was shit! Get high up. The angle is all wrong for watching football, you can't make out certain situations.

Can't you just shout 'Cameras' just as they are about to kick off and everyone instantly stops until you get yourself sorted? (except that one time.....cheating pricks!)

The 3 rival companies bidding for the license were all German. Easy decision for the FA then!

Apparently, there's an announcement of some Fifa 14 news tomorrow.

BH_CdmoCAAA_3-v.jpg

And with it, the emergence of the yearly 'WORSTGAMEEVAR/BESTGAMEEVAR/FIFAROOLZ/PROEVOROOLZ' bore-a-thons.

Dunno how different it will be to be honest. With next-gen consoles on the way before Christmas, would they not be holding back any large advances for the PS4 version?

Fifa 14 Info: http://www.ea.com/soccer/blog/fifa-14-reveal

529612_10151563418004288_1612689647_n.jp

Main info:

“FIFA 14 will play the way great football matches are contested with build up through midfield, tension throughout the match as chances are created, and incredible finishing,” said David Rutter, Executive Producer for FIFA 14. “Opportunities in FIFA 14 will be rewarding and great goals will look stunning.”

Finishing has been transformed with Pure Shot so players have the intelligence to adjust their stride and approach angle to find the best position for hitting the back of the net. Well-hit balls feel more exhilarating and rewarding. New shot types include pure strikes, as well as off-balance and rushed shots. Plus, Real Ball Physics now determines the trajectories of balls, enabling players to kick the ball with force from distance, drill low rising shots with accuracy, and blast dipping or turbulent shots, just like real footballers.

Fans will be able to create rewarding build up to opportunities and have the tools to dictate the tempo of a match through four new features. Protect The Ball will enable players to fend-off and block defenders from the ball while dribbling at any speed, or out-muscle opponents for position before receiving the pass, then turn defenders to carve out opportunities. Teammate Intelligence has been improved on both sides of the ball. New decision-making logic delivers tighter, smarter marking and improved run tracking where defenders recognize opportunities to provide support and win back possession, while attacking players have new ways to outsmart their opponents by creating space for themselves, running along the backline and checking their pace. Major changes to ball control add new tools to win the midfield battles. Sprint Dribble Turns enable players to turn in every direction at sprint speed while preserving momentum, delivering the control and confidence to take on defenders one-on-one. Variable Dribble Touches introduces variety on touches when sprinting. Skilled players will have better touch and more control when sprinting with the ball.

In addition to innovations to gameplay, FIFA 14 is introducing a game-changing new way to play Career Mode. The Global Scouting Network brings the world of professional scouting to life. Players now develop and refine a scouting network and search for talent year-round. Scouts can evaluate footballers all over the world to uncover the attributes and traits of every player in the game, in preparation for the transfer windows. Plus, a new hub delivers easy navigation, fewer interruptions and live scouting reports.

FIFA 14 will deliver engaging online** features and live services that connect fans to the heartbeat of the sport—and to each other—through EA SPORTS Football Club, making FIFA 14 football's social network, where fans connect, compete and share with millions of others around the world. The game will also feature:
Changes to the wildly popular FIFA Ultimate Team
A new online Mode that will encourage social competition
Multiple new features and benefits to EA SPORTS Football Club, the live service that is the heartbeat of FIFA
Complete authenticity with more than 500 officially licensed clubs.

I got my missus to take it. She said 'this is the saddest thing ever'.

Don't ever show her the 'gates' thread.

Spies vs Mercs is back or the new Splinter cell (first time this mode has been on next gen I think) and this time its 4 vs 4. Playing multiplayer on Chaos Theory is probably my second favourite online experience behind BAP so hopefully we can get some of the old crew back on for this :)

I am so very IN for this.

I actually met and got to know our resident rage machine Bleeders playing the first Splinter Cell coop mode they had so have always been a fan of its online stuff. Spy v Merc got played to death too. I still remember the first mission we played on it. I had to zip line in to save him from a sentry early doors and the rest is history :) he did return the favour shortly after by commando rolling into a guard and stabbing his neck as he was about to shoot me though. Good times and hopefully this new Splinter Cell will give us plenty more.

Not forgetting Tyler, Mitch and myself for the classic FIFA 09 era United, those were the days! Double oggy with Mexes was the highlight of my career back then ;)
