I see the front 5 like this:

-----Gourcuff-------Ribery-------

--Anelka----Benzema---Henry--

Or:

-Anelka---------------Ribery----

------------Gourcuff-------------
-------Benzema--Henry--------

Either way, it's gung-ho kamikaze attacking for us this year

Has anyone looked at the long shot and shot power stats for all those players? If Tyler plays behind the front two he should have whoever has the best combo of the two. I've found that long range prowess is nothing without power too. They're what made all those long range Zlatan strikes possible.

I'd maybe consider putting Anelka up top instead of Henry, due to his better strength and heading.

On second thoughts I was a terrible manager so you might want to ignore everything I say.

I like this aswell:

Ribery-------------Henry
------Gourcuff
---Anelka-Benzema

Or Malouda wide left and Henry can take the spot up front.

So versatile.

The DMF has a few options aswell. Toulalan can run his legs off, has great passing and is strong. Lass is quickest but the smallest. Alou Diarra is a physical monster. And big old Patrick aswell. So if we choose to play two DMFs in some games we're well covered.

May as well do the whole side whilst I'm here:

--Sagna-Gallas*-Abidal-Evra--

----------Diarra/Viera**---------

-----Gourcuff-------Ribery-------

--Anelka----Benzema---Henry--

*(or Mexes if Al prefers)
**(again Wincho can take his pick)

Yeah Gourcuff has amazing passing along with shot power and accuracy. Perfect CAM.

Benzema, Anelka and Henry are all very similar with Benzema being worst at long shots but having the most power.

I'll be expecting a re-enactment of the goal of the season if you take Gourcuff.

I'm happy to give any of the big defenders a shot at CB, be it Gallas, Mexes or Abidal, with Alou Diarra maybe an option against the sides with a big front line

See that goal. That's me that is.

I have the fake shots and tricks in the locker to do Gourcuff proud.

I don't pay any attention to the in-game stats, but Ribery's finishing is excellent - he was definitely my most reliable finisher of 1-on-1s when I had Bayern.

And I still think Tyler should be playing right back. There's pretty much no way he can shoot from back there.

Playing friendly BAP the other night I managed to get MoM with Micah Richards and had a couple of long rangers, including a spectacular volley. I'll always find a way...

Ribery needs to be out wide where he has more space to use his ridiculous pace.

Cheers, lol.

Anyway, the formations looks great. An attacking mid role would be fantastic, but I'm also prepared to jump into any gaps anywhere on the pitch.

I've got my league games v Sith around then.

Nothing stopping the rest of the gang getting in on it though....

Me, Tyler, Hummy and Jacko (Al for 1 too) were all that made it but we had a good scouting session.

Things we've learnt:

Hummy loves an offside!
Jacko likes to defend, even if he's Terry Henry from CF!!
Tyler still struggles to find 'pass' before 'shoot'.
I'm utterly gash at the back.
I still love a 'forest gump' run with the ball, particularly with Ribery.
France are pretty much awesome.
Ribery and Malouda are the right boys for the wing.
Viera needs to play 'cos he's massif.
Abidal same deal.

Taken a leaf out of Tobert's book this year and have PM'd the proposed radical formation.

Let's see how we do Thursday.

So far we have no Jacko, anyone else know they're not about? 9:30 start.

I like to think of it as me finding my feet, adjusting to the new style of play and the timing of the passing :)

but I did get caught offside once of twice at athletic aswell. in my defence though they were pretty much all really tight calls.

Yet has been placed in the prime string-pulling position for Thursday.

Sorry I couldn't come back on for some more, was knackered and had two draining league matches.

Enjoyed the game I did play in though, looked like those boys were gonna quit a few times though, I was especially pleased to bag another practice goal (hence the totally OTT celebration :) ), just need one in a real game now!
