Login with your DISPLAY NAME, not old username   02/10/16

IP.board v4 has changed how you login. Previously, you had a username and a display name. The username would be used to login to the forum, whereas the display name would appear alongside posts. It's possible they were one and the same, but also possible that they changed over time, as you updated your display name. From now on, login with your display name. The username no longer exists.

The burger menu may be missing from the top right of the forum when viewing on an iPhone. Until resolved, here is the direct url to the login page.

Max Payne 3 - Join the crew!

2019 posts in this topic

I don't like that part in Max Payne 2 where you're playing as Mona covering Max from the roof.

I never completed it, but Max Payne 1 is one of my absolute favourite action games, I played through it probably half a dozen times back in the day. I liked how Max always looked pissed off in that game, in the sequel he looked a bit too friendly.

The third one by Rockstar looks fantastic. Thanks for continuing to post awesome screenshots/videos.

Max Payne 2 still looks amazing and they actually look like real rooms someone would live in which add a whole lot of weight to the enviroments. The apartment block shootouts in 2 are some of my fave gaming moments, especially the way the NPCs interact with whats going on. I love Remedy !

No please, don't start this or we'll get another epic argument between Smitty and Rudi about how good/bad Max Payne 2 is.

The rest of us all know MP2 is better than the original anyway.

USELESS FACT: The change in bullet-time between MP1 and 2, from "slowing down the whole game, including player movement" to "enemies are slowed down, but the player still moves at full speed" is exactly the same as the change in Combat Boost behaviour between N64 Perfect Dark and XBLA Perfect Dark. :sherlock:

If MP3 is half the game MP2 was we are in for a treat, whether you think it's shit compared to the first or not. It's a wonderful game, a short masterpiece i.e every one of those 4-5 hours is chock full of standout moments. The rag dolls were amazing for the time to, and the sense of place Remedy created was nothing short of superb.

The rag dolls were awful, even for the time.

How so? You shot folk, and they crumpled realistically and hit off the objects in the world convincingly. Nearly 10 years ago most games were dreaming of that kind of enemy reaction to the environment.

Aww man you've brought back some great memories of Soldier Of Fortune 2. Loved that game to death (still do). Had some great times online as well. Really wish Activision had let Raven develop the third one rather than their no name shitey budget developers.

Yeah I'm kinda suprised they're even bothering with a multiplayer element tbh. I can see how it might be ok and obviously multiplayer is sort of expected in every big title now and Rockstar will undoubtedly make it work but I'd rather they just went with a pure singleplayer experience.
I have written this final summary paragraph about twenty times with numerous platitudes and recommendations for the game but they never seem to convey my enthusiasm for the title so I will just say this:
Max Payne 3: F*ck yeah!
EDIT: late to the party!
