Can the Barrett .50 take down one of the gunships down in MP with a single shot to the rotormast? (as in real life) Anyone tried to do it yet?

Really? I just find M16 is

1) very nearly if not as accurate
2) much faster firing and has really minimal recoil
3) much, much better on moving targets

It only loses out on ammo consumption in comparison for me.

I play this game too much.

As I've said before - I don't like 3-round bursts, it feels like I'm not in control of the firing.
I do like the M1 Garand from CoD2 however, and as the M14 is its successor, I really like its feel. Heavy, accurate and powerful. Last night I shot down a couple of guys with the M14 who were trying to cross Taliban Avenue on Strike from one of the windows in Saddam's house. I felt like a German soldier picking off Yanks in Band of Brothers.

Yep, I <3 the M14.

Lookin forward to unlocking that - just a few ranks away at the mo.

I'm currently working my way through the SMGs. The MP5 and the P90 are ace, I thought I was going to hate the AK74u but it turned out pretty decent, but the mini Uzi is fucking appalling. It feels like such an effort killing someone with it. It's severely denting my kill/death ratio.

Also decided to go through the LMGs - I just got all the bits for the M60, which I've decided is a fine gun. I'm on the RPD at the moment - undecided until I get the red dot how I feel about that. I think it probably kicks around a lot less than the M60 though, doesn't it? Might give double tap a go on that one...

I can't be arsed with shotguns and SMGs. I'll stick to the rest, though. But the challenges for the shotties and SMGs can stay where they are.

I'm more worried about the sniper challenges TBH. I've only shot 4 people with a sniper rifle for the entire time I've had this game.

I hadn't touched the sniper rifles since my initial test, but enough people were using them in free-for-all for me to be convinced I should try again, and to my surprise I actually did pretty well in a team game, to the point where I got MVP and the enemy sent a team of three to take me out (and one of them ate a claymore, ha ha). Then I noticed that the first level of progress in the barracks required 100 kills and, you know, I wasn't doing that well. So it was back to my beloved SMGs.

The M21 with ACOG is very nice! You can fire rapidly and it has nice power. Similar to the M14 I guess.

Here I am again with some facts!

The M21 sniper rifle is actually the semi-automatic sniper rifle adaptation of the popular M14 rifle. From Wiki:

The United States Army wanted an accurate sniper rifle during the Vietnam War. The M14 was selected because of its accuracy, reliability, and the ability for a quick second shot. As a result, in 1969, the Rock Island Arsenal converted 1,435 National Match (target grade) M14 rifles by adding a Leatherwood 3–9x Adjustable Ranging Telescope (ART) telescopic sight and furnishing National Match grade ammunition. It was designated the XM21 until 1975, when it became the M21 (although it had been unofficially called the M21 since December 1969).

The M21 remained the Army’s official sniper rifle until 1988, when it was replaced by the bolt-action M24 Sniper Weapon System.

Well I've just unlocked the M14 so I don't think I'll bother with the snipers. I was quite looking forward to the M14 but the first 25 kills before I got the Red Dot took me AGES. I can't hit shit looking down the iron sights on that thing. I'll be fine with the first shot and then I have no idea where I'm aiming.

I'll use it enough to get my ACOG and after fitting red dot sights my kill/death ratio started popping over 1 again, but this isn't replacing anything as a favourite weapon any time soon.

I also went back to the M4 briefly. I swear that thing has sway on the sights more than the G36. The G36 just seems more accurate.

...currently my weapon of choice is the M16 with double tap perk. Great accuracy at range, with a 6 round burst thats even handy up close.

Is there anyway to mod an X360 controller (or is there a third party one available) for turbo fire? The G3 - with it's insane accuracy and zero recoil - with it would easily be the best weapon in the game.

Not that I would do that of course (I would)

It does that? I thought double tap just made the burst quicker? Very cool if that's true - I like the M16.

G3 with double tap perk and my itchytrigga finga = guns blazing. I still can't really get into the G3 though. It sounds like a peashooter.

I unlocked the G36C last night, and man alive, it is some weapon - especially with the red dot B)

What are good perks to use it with?

Ooh I forgot about bandolier, I did seem to be constantly reloading my weapon at the most inopportune moments.

Bandolier is just extra ammo total, not per clip so you'll still be reloading just as often :P

If you find you're always running out of ammo try the sleight of hand perk, a regular assault rifle reloads in about 1 sec when you have that. You sacrifice stopping power though :\

Nae bother. Some people think that Double Tap gives you double the amount of ammo per clip too. :P

Bandolier is really good for long drawn out stand-offs on Sabotage. On some modes (search and destroy, deathmatch, hardcore modes) I'm actually going for frag x 3 or claymore instead as you just don't need (or won't have a chance) to use that much ammo.

My sneaky guy on TDM last night was great fun. I've only just started using him.

Silenced P90
Silenced USP
Claymores
UAV Jammer
Dead silence (no footsteps)

I'm not really a fan of free-for-all but I jumped into it yesterday with that guy just to get the challenges. You just run around like a mentalist surprising people and unloading clips into them. It's pretty funny

Most Valuable Player.

If rap was a game I'd be MVP: The Most Valuable Poet on the M.I.C.

At the mo I like the M21 with ACOG and bandolier and maybe stopping power or UAV, and Deep impact.
This setup makes it more assault than sniper.

Assault aside from the fact you need to stop and zoom in all the time due to lack of crosshair

Also large recoil on the M21 when not prone, even when prone there is a fair bit.

Hmm not really noticed much recoil, it's loads less then dragunov and barratt anyway. I pretty much always use the sights and in hardcore you have no choice!

Yeah I've experienced it first-hand last night...
