Edan Touring - is it near you? Bonus events get the Mighty Casey.

The nearest here (Liverpool) is listed twice (8th? 15th?), so I'm going to have to clear that up somewhere.

I thought this was rubbish to be honest. Too much useless UK hip-hop and the old joints they picked were really obvious. It felt really clinical too, pretty far removed from their live sound.

What would you call "useless UK hip-hop" on it just out of interest?

Not that my opinion means much in here, but I didn't like it much either.

Be interested in hearing peoples opinions on the Miri Ben Ari LP after downloading it out of curiosity.

Is the Miri Ben Ari LP worth a look? I tried downloading but, y'know, Rapidshare.

Has anyone heard the new Ty album yet? I see it's out there but I'm tempted to wait for the CD rather than take a full preview. Downloaded the single (I guess) off emusic earlier which is pretty good but not really up to the same standard as anything from his last LP. It sounds a bit like One Thing played at the wrong speed too, not that that's a criticism.

Ty - Don't Watch That (Knickers, Y-Fronts and Jockstraps)

Well, I quite like it - but then, its the first thing I've grabbed from this thread in months. It's erm, full of strings :)
Most of the vocalists seem a bit on the weak side though.

I thought it was fucking awful. It's like that gay hip-hop/RnB all the trendy boys have booming out their Chav-mobiles, only made even worse by the violin work all over EVERY song. The Pharoah Monch track was the only listenable one IMO and that wasn't exactly great.

Quite enjoying the Kool Keith album though, so all is well :) Thanks for the up.

Well, it all gets too much as an album with the strings but its OK to pick and choose a few. So actually, yeah it is a bit rubbish mostly - I'd never buy it and its the slower tracks that I tend to prefer.

I actually really enjoyed the Kool Keith album. It's kinda similar in rhymes to Dr.Octagon, with all the random sex chat and weird shit. But the beats are that bit more friendly, I have to be in the mood for the Doc.

RE: Herbaliser. Fair enough if people have heard it and didn't like it, everyone has an opinion and I'm open to that. To say there is "too much useless UK hiphop" though when your talking about Yungun, Demon Boyz, Cappo, Verb T etc then your just talking tripe.

I can understand the "clinical" jibe though. I just think its a damn nice collection of top hiphop tracks.

Nice way to start.

Superb album. Family rap made me do a sex wee the first time I heard it. Have you heard Scrath Perverts Fabric CD? Dead Prez, The Roots, Roots Manuva, Dj Shadow, Mr Scruff and Radiohead. Oh yes.

And the Liverpool Edan gig is on thr 8th according to posters in town, I'd be there but I'm going to the Bristol show on the 5th. Enjoy yourself, he's an amazing performer.

12. Glimity Glamity - Demon Boyz

Biggest biters in hip hop Das Efx were on some shark shit when they toured the UK together. They went back to the States with a whole new flow and blew up big time. They not only stole the flow they jacked the beat too.Wiggedy wiggly wack. Any chance of an up on that track ? It's one of my all time faves. The album that it's from is worth tracking down too.

Listened to Camp Lo Fort Apache mixtape today, wasn't feeling it.

Vinnie Paz - The Sound And The Fury mixtape.

1. Intro
2. The Rebirth feat Jus Allah
3. The Rebuilding feat Jus Allah
4. Devil Things - Jus Allah
5. When You Need Me - Army of The Pharoahs
6. A Man Apart - Army of The Pharoahs
7. Vinniebus - feat Jus Allah
8. Heavy Metal Rap feat Ill Bill
9. Pretty Little Whores (Remix) feat Outerspace
10. Heavy Metal Terror feat Ill Bill
11. Untitled Bonus Track feat Jus Allah
12. Outro

Quality is 128k or less. Big Louie Dawgzzz Daddy! The Heavy Metal Terror track is the best metal remix since CIA is Still Trying To Kill Me. If you're not scared of metal I recommend you give it a listen. Put some puppies in a bin bag and go to work with a hammer.

I've had this for a while, very good album, top quality tunes all the way. The scratch perverts mix is very good too.

Bought this on monday.

It's a top album but only if you like yoda's stuff I guess as it is his usual style although it's all original tunes rather than a cut and paste tape.

Really into the Sway tune on there but that's the only thing I've heard from him so I dunno if all his stuff is like that.

Sway's diss of Nas to the Thief's Theme tune is well worth checking out. Otherwise I can take him or leave him.
