I've taken to doing this once a year, but I like to pick out some of the tracks I've done over the year that don't sound too shit when I go back to them and put them into a little album thing. So this year:

http://lumieres.bandcamp.com/

I think you can download it free but not sure how much of a palaver it is to do so. It needs an email or something. I should have probably looked harder at the settings and that. It's.. well, it's possibly electronica, mostly? There's also a track from when I thought I might want to sound more like Anamanguchi, and.. a cover of Ready to Go by Republica.

Thanks for pointing me to this Bastion. Think it rather undermines the solemn subject matter, but new interpretations are always worth a listen ;)

Just a quick piano thing I did in reason this evening. I think it owes a lot to 'Peace piece' by Bill Evans, which wasn't what I was aiming for at all

First time in ages I spent an evening recording some stuff... a simple quick live performance on the APC40 with Ableton Live featuring layered drum sequence on the Motif XS7 combined with drums from the Jomox Airbase, lead from the Prophet '08 and some ABL2 acid basslines.

My Christmas present was the wife finally caving into my demands for Komplete 7, it wasn't until I finished this track that I realised that pretty much everything in it is from that box, so money well spent. The leads are from Massive & Reaktor, drums are through Battery (although my own samples from various places), bassline from Massive, and there's a bit of Absynth in the pads.

I'm currently trying to put together a live solo set that I can do with a laptop, guitar and a foot controller. A few of the songs will be mostly based around backing tracks but I want to write a couple that are centred around the use of two loopers. After taking ages setting up my layout in the software yesterday this popped out after a couple of attempts:

I dunno. Obviously the levels and melodies (and singing) need work but I'm a bit worried about the loops themselves getting a bit annoying, and I don't know whether I have the presence of mind to change the loops over the course of the song. Anyway, advice or feedback would be lovely!

I like it, Johny(rat). I don't think the loops get annoying at all really - I enjoy repetition when its done right. I'm a sucker for live looping, too. I've seen it done live, and it always amazes. Peter Broderick does some superb looping. As does this guy:

I posted this in ATF bit thought I should post it in here. It's a vid of me mucking around with some patterns on my new x0xb0x bassline.

Nice, I'm so used to software these days. It's great a to see a song actually 'played' in real time on hardware.

Wow there's some seriously cool gear in this thread (and cool tunes of course). I've been messing around with Garage Band on iPad this weekend and was impressed by how quickly you could put something together on it. The interface and general design works a lot better than I expected. I hadn't used the full Garage Band on a Mac but I thought the iPad version would be heavily restricted. I mean, it is in some senses, but still, it's great to play around it.

I knocked something up which I posted in the iPad thread but thought it would be more appropriate here. It's made using the iPad, Garage Band and a couple of guitars plugged in with iRig. Glad for any feedback.

Oh that is lovely (please excuse the late reply; I haven't been in here too much!). I need to get me a hardware looper at some point too i think (not that I could do that stuff).

From the vids i saw of it it sounds like a Triton/Motif workstation type synth rather than an uber update of the JP-8.

I really like Wave Alchemy's stuff, they have a number of free collections on their site here http://www.wavealche...-samples/ty1/p3. Personally I really, really liked their Deep Tech & Progressive kit (which is a pay for one) if you decide you don't mind spending a bit of money on them.

Here's a DIY modular synth...

Posted Image[/img]

12v PSU
Phaser VCF
4 VCO's "Rainbow Oscillators" (think that just refers to the variety of tone)
Preamp
Attenuators
4 VCA's
VCO Counter (dunno this one)
VCO Bank
Shift Register (Cannot remember what that one is either)
Manual Gate
Sample & Hold
2 (?) Envelop Generattors (Attack and release only)
Trigger
Mixer
Pulse-Width Module
Sequencer

Anyone ever built one or got one for show?
