Sounds like good commercial sense to me.

targeting demographs is shite, just make a good product. or if you must do the former, then do the latter too. i would have no problem with fifa street if it was well done. but its a load of horse shit dressed up in EA gloss.

i take it you bought fifa street :(

Stop being awkward you know perfectly well what we mean :o

catering specifically for a market that will lap your product up, using a cynically created veneer of 'street' stylings, sending your licensing team to buy up 'cool' tunes for the soundtrack, paying to have Ronaldinho on the front cover.

Its structured, but ruthlessly identifying a gullible and stupid audience, whipping them up into a frenzy, and cultivating a 'yearly update' mentality which they swallow in droves, paying 37.99 for the privilige. Even actively encouraged (via promotions) to trade in last years title (for a pittance) for the new update.

How is that a cynical creation process?

It's sensible.

The quality of a game is subjective, the idea of a business is to make money - there are many people that like the games. Thus, they've achieved what any business would love to.

..and no credibility with any reviewers. So theyre box office smashes that come up short with the critics, like brainless rubbishy films .

Yeah, critics are always correct about games - Odama, Edge gave it 4/10, GamesTM gave it 3/10.

They'll always review it in their own special holier than thou way because they see it as inferior to every other football game, despite the game clearly aiming itself at a different market.

I've not played it, but I know people that have and really enjoy it. That type of game doesn't really interest me, which is why I won't play and review it, I've no desire to - why?

And you're criticising it, despite knowing it won't be your kind of thing.
